Ii. Novikov, MORPHOLOGICAL AND QUANTITATIVE-ANALYSIS O F ACETYLCHOLINESTERASE-POSITIVE INNERVATION OF DEVELOPING HEART-VALVES IN WHITE-RAT, Doklady Akademii nauk BSSR, 38(3), 1994, pp. 83-86
The cholinesterase-reaction method was used to detect the nerves in th
e cardiac valves in rats aged 1 day-20 months. The morphometric study
showed that maximum innervation of the valves was reached in 1-3 month
s of the life. The flap valves contained more nerves than the semiluna
r ones. In the old animals the number of nerve fibers in valves decrea
sed noticeably.
