Thermodynamic interactions in binary mixtures of 1-chloronaphthalene with t
he monocyclic aromatics have been studied through calculation of excess mol
ar volumes from Flory equation of state and that of Prigogine-Flory-Patters
on theories using the experimental results of density, viscosity and speed
of sound. The experimental excess viscosity has been compared with Bloomfie
ld-Dewan theory, while the excess isentropic and isothermal compressibiliti
es have been analysed using Benson-Kiyohara theory. Efforts have also been
made to calculate the excess internal pressure from Prigogine-Saraga theory
. All the excess quantities have been fitted to Redlich-Kister equation to
estimate the binary coefficients and standard deviations.
