Abstract
A highly selective liquid-liquid extraction spectrophotometric procedure ha s been described for the determination of trace amounts of nickel with eosi ne in the presence of 1,10-phenanthroline. The molar absorptivity and Sande ll's sensitivity are found to be 7.1x10(4) l mol(-1) cm(-1) and 0.83 ng/cm( 2) respectively. The method has been successfully utilized for the determin ation of nickel in Al-bronze samples.
