Abstract
Three Dawson-type mixed-valence tungstomolybdodiphosphates have been photos ynthesized. They are one-electron-reduced heteropoly blue species, and the added "blue" electron is captured by Mo atom(s) id heteropoly frameworks. T heir magnetic properties, and inter- and intra-molecular electron transfer rates are studied. The intermolecular electron transfer is limited by a geo metrical factor, which necessitates contact between the Mo caps in exchangi ng heteropoly species. The intramolecular electron transfer within Mo atoms is very fast, being more than six orders of magnitude larger compared to t he corresponding intermolecular electron transfer.
