The AWWA Research Division Microbiological Contaminants committee reviewed four bacterial microorganisms considered of greatest concern to the water i ndustry: Mycobacterium avium complex, Helicobacter pylori, pathogenic Esche richia coli, and Campylobacter jejuni. help the water quality specialist, t his report describes each reviews its health effects; summarizes informatio n on its occurrence, waterborne outbreaks, and treatment; discusses analyti cal procedures; and outlines needed research.
