Specific PCR identification and differentiation of the thermophilic campylobacters, Campylobacter jejuni, C-coli, C-lari, and C-upsaliensis

A sensitive PCR assay that detects the thermophilic campylobacters C.jejuni , C. coli, C. lari, and C. upsaliensis is reported. Furthermore, by digesti on of the PCR products with two restriction enzymes, species differentiatio n was demonstrated. Thus, the present method has the potential to be used f or both detection and identification of thermophilic Campylobacter species.
