Abstract
We report a patient with epiploic appendagitis who presented with acute abd ominal pain. Emergency Department and discharge courses are described. The pathophysiology, presentation, diagnosis, and treatment of this disorder ar e discussed. Knowledge of this uncommonly diagnosed entity and its usual be nign course may allow the Emergency Physician to order the appropriate stud ies to help avoid unnecessary surgical treatment.
