Abstract
A new species of Tropidophis is described from the province of Sancti Spiri tus in central Cuba. This small, spotted, gracile species differs from all others in the genus by a combination of scalation, head shape, and color pa ttern. It is tentatively placed in the semicinctus group of gracile, boldly spotted species, but it does not appear to be closely related to any speci es in the genus.
