Abstract
In this paper the kinetic model for vehicular traffic developed by Klar and Wegener (SIAM J. Appl. Math. 59 (1999), 983-1001) is considered, and theor etical results for the space homogeneous kinetic equation are presented. In particular, the stationary kinetic equation is considered. An investigatio n of this equation leads to a boundary value problem for an ordinary differ ential equation. Existence of the solution and some properties are proved. A numerical investigation of the stationary equation is included. (C) 1999 Academic Press.
