Abstract
This paper discusses the effect of heavy metals on the reflection spectra o f barley. The interconnection of the concentration of metals and pigments i n the leaves with the spectral radiance factors in the visible region is co nsidered in the dynamics. Sensitive informative spectral indices are displa yed for the phytoindication of contamination of the medium by heavy metals. (C) 1999 The Optical Society of America. [S1070-9762(99)00408-X].
