Abstract
The spatial dynamics of the modes of a TEA CO2 laser with a conjugate cavit y and light-controlled vanadium dioxide-based mirrors having different sign s of dR/dT have been numerically modeled. It, is shown that interaction of the intracavity radiation with the VO2 mirrors can cause the lasing region to be displaced in a transverse direction with a velocity of 5-50 mm/mu s. The influence of the optical and thermophysical parameters of the VO2 mirro rs on the characteristics of the given effect is considered. (C) 1999 The O ptical Society of America.
