Abstract
This note introduces a design for a low-cost continuous digital output water level recorder. The Stowaway(TM) volt data logger from Onset Co mputer Corporation is modified to incorporate a steady voltage input. A simple float-pulley system can be constructed, or the logger can be attached to existing analog recorders. Laboratory and field accuracy t ests indicate that the recorder is capable of producing reliable estim ates of stage. In-field accuracy is a function of the float-pulley sys tem and the choice of accuracy in the electronic components employed i n the modification of the data logger.
