Abstract
The long-range magnetic ordering at the surface of ultrathin epitaxial film s of Cr, Mn, and Fe on Fe(1 0 0) has been studied by electron capture spect roscopy. The observed spin polarization indicates different magnetic orderi ngs comprising parallel and antiparallel coupling of moments. Based on simp le assumptions for electron capture, the layer- and coverage-dependent magn etization profile is estimated. (C) 1999 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
