Abstract
We investigate the Ne-31 and Ne-32 neutron-rich nuclei by using the Generat or Coordinate Method. The wave functions are defined by a Ne-30 + n and Ne- 30 + n + n cluster structure, respectively. The binding energies of both sy stems are studied with different parameters of the nucleon-nucleon interact ion, and are shown to be similar Assuming the particle stability of Ne-32, the Ne-31 nucleus is therefore predicted to be stable with respect to neutr on decay. Spectroscopic properties (r.m.s. radii and E2 transition probabil ities) are presented for both nuclei. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All ri ghts reserved.
