Abstract
Simulations with a simple model of wake field may lead to important coheren t dipolar and quadrupolar synchrotron oscillations. We show that the free e lectron laser can suppress these oscillations leading to a stabilization of the electron bunch. These simulations are in agreement with the experiment al results. We show also that similar effects are obtained with an external field of high-frequency (GHz range).
