On the basis of the analysis of absorption and luminescence spectra and the
luminescence kinetics, the orbital nature and the main photophysical param
eters of cyclometalated palladium complexes [Pd((CN)-N-boolean AND)L] in so
lutions are studied. The orbital nature and the properties of lower excited
electronic states of the complexes that are responsible for luminescence a
re shown to be dependent on the nature of a cyclometalating ligand and a me
tal.
