Nonlinear drift-Alfven waves in an inhomogeneous, relativistic low-pressure
electron-positron plasma are studied. A set of coupled nonlinear equations
describing these waves are deduced. It is shown that the nonlinear equatio
ns for stationary drift-Alfven waves are similar to those for shear Alfven
and drift-Alfven waves in an electron-ion plasma or shear Alfven waves in a
n electron-positron plasma. Dipolar drift-Alfven vortices can thus exist in
relativistic electron-positron plasmas.
