The structural transitions in (C4H9NH3)(2)SnCl6 and (C4H9NH3)(2)SnCl6 have
been studied by proton NMR spectroscopy. The temperature dependences of the
proton magnetic resonance absorption spectra have been determined and also
those of the second moment (M-2). For the former compound, the phase trans
ition was found to be connected with the motions of SnCl62- octahedra disto
rtion. NH3 group reorientation and diffusion of chain defects dominate the
nuclear resonance relaxation results in the latter compound.
