Abstract
The solvent mediated force between the hard sphere colloids in Smith-Mezbed a solvent is studied by means of the Percus-Yevick approximation. The oscil latory structure of the potential of mean force is found to be diminished w ith decreasing temperature. The agreement of the theory with simulation dat a is sufficiently well.
