This article examines the feasibility of theoretically determining the para
meters of standard specimens needed to quantitatively analyze samples. A me
thod is proposed for optimizing the value of ai and, thus, the parameter of
the theoretical standard Delta S-e for the given element corresponding to
the measured values of S and S-cm of the sample. This is the essence of the
principle of automatic correction in spectrum analysis. The value obtained
for S-e is used to find all of the other parameters of the theoretical sta
ndard which are needed to determine the percentage concentration of the ele
ment being checked.
