Abstract
The interaction of thin layers of antimony with a substrate consisting of a n Al3Ni eutectic composite was investigated by characteristic electron ener gy loss spectroscopy. It was found that antimony interacts chemically with the substrate, which makes it possible to control the surface activity of t he main material. (C) 1999 American Institute of Physics.
