Holyrines A (4) and B (5), two new members of the indolocarbazole class of
alkaloids, have been isolated from cultures of a marine actinomycete and th
eir structures elucidated by spectroscopic analysis. The holyrines are poss
ible intermediates in the biosynthesis of staurosporine (1). (C) 1999 Elsev
