Abstract
A ''Dialogue'' session was set up during the seventh scientific meetin g of the Pacific Rim College of Psychiatrists in 1995. The objective o f this session was to clarify the opinions of great scholars on modern psychiatry and their contributions to its development. Participants d iscussed characteristics of psychiatry in various countries as well as the future of world psychiatry. The following article is the ''dialog ue'' that occurred between Professor Nishizono and Dr. Melvin Sabshin.
