Langer's axillary arch is a relatively rare anatomical variation of latissi
mus dorsi muscle insertion. The clinical importance of this condition in ax
illary lymph node dissection (ALND) and lymphoedema as well as latissimus d
orsi flap reconstruction has been described previously.(1,2) Axillary vein
obstruction in association with this condition has also been reported.(3) W
e report two cases of Langer-'s axillary arch encountered during sentinel l
ymph node (SLN) biopsy which had some bearing on the procedure. (C) 1999 Ha
