Abstract
A novel sesterterpenoid designated as nitiol(1), possessing enhancement act ivity of IL-2 gene expression in a human T cell line, was isolated from the Peruvian folk medicine "Hercampuri" (Gentianella nitida). The structure wa s elucidated by extensive spectroscopic investigation.
