Abstract
We report on high-pressure Gd-155-Mossbauer studies of the magnetic propert ies of GdM2 (Mn, Fe, Al) Laves phases in the cubic C15 phase, and, for the first time, of GdMn2 also in the high-pressure hexagonal C14 phase. We used an improved high-pressure cell with either boroncarbide, sapphire or sinte red diamond anvils allowing pressures up to 20 GPa and a simultaneous deter mination of magnetic ordering temperatures by in-situ resistivity measureme nts of the sample under study.
