Computer image evaluation of graphite forms in cast iron

RP, a new parameter which is defined as the ratio of the perimeter of a cir cle which has the same area as the graphite particle to the actual perimete r of that particle, has been developed to evaluate the form of graphite on the platform of PC. The thresholds for distinguishing graphite forms are al so proposed, Four graphite forms, which are flake, vermicular, irregular an d spheroidal, could be evaluated, Compared with other methods, the new para meter is more accurate in the evaluation of graphite forms.
