We evaluate the matter-antimatter asymmetry produced by emission of fermion
ic carriers from vortons which are assumed to be destabilized at the electr
oweak phase transition. The velocity of contraction of the vorton, calculat
ed through the decrease of its magnetic energy, originates a chemical poten
tial which allows a baryogenesis of the order of the observed value. This a
symmetry is not diluted too much by reheating if the collapse of vortons is
distributed along an interval of similar to 10(-10) sec.
