Abstract
The crossantigencity among paramphistomes, Paramphistomum epiclitum, Gastro thylax crumenifer, Gigantocotyle explanatum and the common liver fluke Fasc iola gigantica of buffalo was studied by Ouchterlony double immunodiffusion (DID) test. When soluble whole worm antigens of paramphistomes was probed against parasite specific rabbit hyperimmune sera, marked cross-antigenicit y was in evidence not only among paramphistomes, but also with the common l iver fluke of buffaloes. Two to three cross-reactive antigens were common a rnortg paramphistomes while Fasciola gigantica a showed a distinct common a ntigen with the three predominant paramphistomes of buffalo origin.
