Abstract
A phlebotomist with nosocomially acquired human immunodeficiency virus infection developed tuberculosis 10 months after exposure to multidru g-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis during a nosocomial outbreak He althcare workers with immunosuppression are at increased risk of tuber culosis if infected and, if exposed, should be considered for preventi ve therapy regardless of tuberculin skin-test status.
