1,2-O-Alkylidene-alpha-D-glucofuranose 3,5,6-bicyclophosphites form optical
ly active complexes with simple Cu(I), Cr(0), Mo(0) and Pt(II) derivatives.
All these metals are coordinated to the phosphorus atom. It was shown that
copper complexes in a solution are in rapid exchange with free ligands. De
pending on the reaction conditions, chromium and molybdenum can add one or
two ligand molecules. Cis-trans isomerization is typical for the phosphite
complexes of platinum in the solution. The structural parameters of some sy
nthesised complexes were compared with those of their nearest analogues on
the basis of X-ray diffraction analysis. Relatively slight deformation of l
igands coordinated was inferred. Most of the metal complexes obtained are q
uite stable and can be used in experimental practice. (C) 1999 Elsevier Sci
