The literature data concerning the use of hydride-forming metals and a
lloys as hydrogen acceptors in order to overcome thermodynamic limitat
ions of the catalytic reactions proceeding with H-2 release are review
ed. High efficiency of the intermetallic hydrogen acceptors in the deh
ydrogenation of cycloalkanes, isobutane, alchols (C1-C3), aromatizatio
n of alkanes (C2-C3) is noted.
