Abstract
The 10 South African species currently assigned to Laurentia (an otherwise Mediterranean genus) are segregated here as the genus Wimmerella on the bas is of their basal (vs. medial) bracteoles; larger flowers and fruits; and s ubglobose (vs. ellipsoid) seeds lacking a strophiole, which are sulcate wit h flattened (vs. keeled) walls.
