Isothermal phase equilibrium studies on the binary mixtures of some alkylbenzenes

The gas chromatographic method proposed by us for simple and accurate measu rement of isothermal phase equilibria has been applied to the binary mixtur es formed by alkylbenzenes amongst themselves. Results on the binary mixtur es of: benzene a toluene, toluene + o-xylene, toluene a p-xylene, toluene a ethylbenzene, ethylbenzene + o-xylene and ethylbenzene a p-xylene are pres ented in this paper. The present measurements on benzene a toluene system a t 40 degrees C are in good agreement with the isothermal phase equilibrium data available in the literature.
