The optical and electrical characteristics of poly(4,3'-dopenthoxy-2,2'bith
iophene) films on indium-tin oxide plates change slightly when irradiated w
ith ionizing radiations, and the optical absorbance of the substrate increa
ses in the W-visible range. After irradiation, a charge injection from the
substrate to the polymer occurs in time, leading to the formation of cation
states inside the polymer at low dose rates and to the formation of an ins
ulating polymer layer at the polymer-substrate interface at high dose rates
