Abstract
Specific features of radical polymerization and copolymerization of strong unsaturated electrolytes are characterized for the example of p-styrenesulf onic acid salts in aqueous, aqueous-salt, and aqueous-organic solutions, ta king into account the state of ionizable groups of monomers and macroradica ls. The main factors complicating description of polymerization and copolym erization in such systems are related to the non-isoionicity of the process and diverse forms of the ionizable groups of the monomers and macroradical s. General features of counterion binding in solutions of polymers and copo lymers based on p-styrenesulfonic acid salts are considered.
