Ad. Chapman et al., Right heart failure as the dominant clinical picture in a case of primary amyloidosis affecting the pulmonary vasculature., SCOT MED J, 44(4), 1999, pp. 116-117
A 91-year-old female patient died of right heart failure and pulmonary hype
rtension. The autopsy revealed multi-organ vascular amyloidosis and pulmona
ry alveolar septal amyloidosis with no evidence of parenchymal myocardial a
myloid deposition. This is a rare example of cor pulmonale secondary to pul
monary amyloidosis.
