Abstract
With the aim of developing versatile and low-cost technologies for interfac e engineering in manganites, we report on the fabrication of arrays of inte rfaces on epitaxial La2/3Sr1/3MnO3 thin films. Interfaces in the films are induced by laser patterning of monocrystalline SrTiO3 substrates. These int erfaces are responsible for the low-field tunnel magnetoresistance. The mag netotransport properties, of the upper-grown La2/3Sr1/3MnO3 films, are expl ored as a function of the characteristics of the interface network. We show that substantial and controllable magnetoresistance values can be obtained . (C) 1999 American Institute of Physics. [S0003-6951(99)03040-5].
