Abstract
Colocasia bobone disease virus, a rhabdovirus associated with Bobone and Al omae diseases of taro in the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea. was comp ared with a rhabdovirus associated with veinal chlorosis of taro in several Pacific Islands. Differences in serological reaction, particle size and di sease symptoms indicate the existence of two distinct strains or viruses. T he name taro vein chlorosis virus is suggested for the second strain/virus.
