Abstract
The title compound, 1, 12, 15-triaza-3, 4 : 9, 10-dibenzo-5, 8-dioxacyclope ntadecane-N-acetic lactam (C22H29N3O3Br2, M-r = 543. 29) has been synthesiz ed and characterized by analytical data, IR and (HNMR)-H-1 spectra. The com pound crystallizes in the trigonal system, space group R (3) over bar with a = 35. 194 (1), c = 10. 397 (1) Angstrom, gamma = 120 degrees, V = 11152. 6 (1) Angstrom(3), Z = 18, D-c = 1. 456 gcm(-3), F (000) = 4968, mu = 3. 3 mm(-1). MoK alpha radiation (lambda = 0. 71073 Angstrom), R = 0. 0145 for 3 094 observed reflections [I>2 sigma(I)] of 3392 independent reflections. Th e result shows that monofunction reaction for polyaza macrocycle were proto nized. H-1 NMR spectra of the ligand showed two sets of multiplets due to t he two phenyl rings of the ligand in different environments.
