The corrosion and electrochemical behavior of iron in a 1 M H2SO4 solu
tion With added 2-(2'-pyridyl)benzimidazole, sodium chloride, or sodiu
m thiocyanate, as well as with their double and triple mixtures, was s
tudied, The mutual effects of inhibitors on iron dissolution and hydro
gen depolarization were classified in approximation of the independent
influence of surfactants on the rates of electrode reactions. A relat
ionship between the mutual effect of inhibitors in mixtures and the in
formation entropy of a system, including single and combined additives
, was shown.
