Abstract
Comparative corrosion tests of EK-9VD and VKh-2K alloys and X18H10T st eel at 400-1000 degrees C were performed in the following melts: NaCl; MgCl2 : KCl : NaCl = 48.7 : 38.2 : 13.1 (wt %) ternary eutectics (TE) ; and Na2SO4 : NaCl = 75 : 25 and Na2SO4 : TE = 75 : 25 mixtures. Usin g the second and fourth melts instead of the first and third allows on e to broaden the temperature range of chloride and sulfate corrosion t ests by 400 and 80 degrees C, as a result of reducing their temperatur e thresholds to 410 and 550 degrees C, respectively.
