Green telematics from videotex to Internet based applications

A comparison is made between green telematics, as developed in the 1980s an d Internet services which are being developed today. The situation is studi ed from three points of view: users, service providers and authors. Advanta ges and limits concerning information content, technical environment and er gonomic dimension of applications are discussed, together with the possibil ity of migration of services from old-fashioned videotex applications to th e Internet, or coexistence of both systems.
