Abstract
Two nonstatic solutions for three-dimensional gravity coupled to matte r fields are given. One describes the collapse of radiation that resul ts in a black hole. This is the three-dimensional analogue of the Vaid ya metric, and is used to construct a model for mass inflation. The ot her describes plane gravitational waves for coupling to a massless sca lar field.
