In this communication, an analysis of a triple basin inverted absorber sola
r still has been made. Expressions for the water and condensing cover tempe
ratures of each of the basins have been derived. The hourly variation of yi
eld from each of the basins has been calculated. It has been observed that
an inverted absorber triple basin solar still gives a substantially higher
yield than a double basin and a single basin inverted absorber solar still.
The yield from the inverted absorber triple effect solar still has also be
en compared with that from a conventional triple effect solar still. (C) 19
