Abstract
The capabilities of the chemical recuperation of exhaust and compressor int ercooling heat from gas turbines have been investigated in this paper consi dering methanol as primary fuel for the Reheat InterCooled (intercooler hea t is recovered) Aeroderivative Gas Turbine. The model includes an exergy an alysis method and a simplified blade cooling model. The location of the int ercooler, the reheat combustion chamber as well as the overall pressure rat io have been optimized. Comparisons are made with the Chemically Recuperate d Gas Turbine CRGT cycles using methane as a primary fuel. (C) 1999 Elsevie r Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
