Abstract
Based on our previous work, in which a model of two-dimensional dilato n gravity of the type proposed by Callan, Giddings. Harvey, and Stromi nger was rigorously quantized, we explicitly demonstrate how one can e xtract space-time geometry in an exactly solvable theory of quantum gr avity. In particular, we have been able to produce a prototypical conf iguration in which a (smeared) matter shock wave generates a black hol e without a naked singularity.
