The Mission Analysis and Planning System (MAPS) has been developed for a lo
w earth orbiting remote sensing satellite, Korea Multipurpose Satellite-I (
KOMSAT-I), to monitor and control the ol bit and the attitude as well as to
generate mission timelines and command plans. The MAPS has been designed u
sing a top-down approach and modular programming method to ensure flexibili
ty in modification and expansion of the system, Furthermore, a graphical us
er inter-face has been adopted to ensure user friendliness. Design, impleme
ntation, and testing of the KOMPSAT MAPS is discussed in this paper.
