Abstract
Defuzzification is a problem of optimal selection of an element from a fuzz y set. Recently, we were able to show how neighboring elements can influenc e and contribute to make a better selection. In this paper we propose a met hod of defuzzification that uses the interactions among neighboring element s and the selective transformation. This defuzzification procedure is model ed on the concepts of evolutionary biology.
