An analytical method has been developed to correct vehicle acceleration per
formance test data acquired under various ambient conditions to a standard
condition. This correction provides a common basis for product evaluation a
nd comparison. Example results show that variation in vehicle performance m
easures due to different test conditions can be reduced by 50% by using thi
s method. This work presents a unique tool to achieve more accurate and tim
ely assessment of various vehicle designs and, at the same time, reduce veh
icle development cost and lead time.
